This privacy policy describes how 5 Clues Mystery("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.

Information we collect

  • Account information: When you create an account or use the app anonymously, we store a user identifier, optional email address, display name, country, timezone, and language preferences.
  • Gameplay data: Puzzle attempts, scores, solve times, hints used, streaks, archive unlocks, and leaderboard standings.
  • Device and app data: Push notification tokens, app version, and basic device information needed to deliver notifications and analytics.
  • Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how features are used (for example, screens viewed and puzzle interactions). Analytics data is tied to an anonymous or authenticated user ID.
  • Purchases: If you subscribe to Premium, purchase and entitlement status is processed by RevenueCat and Google Play Billing. We store whether your account has an active premium entitlement.

How we use information

  • Provide daily puzzles, streaks, leaderboards, and social features.
  • Sync your progress across devices when you sign in.
  • Send optional push notifications (daily reminders and streak alerts).
  • Process premium subscriptions and restore purchases.
  • Improve the app and fix bugs.

Third-party services

We use the following service providers:

  • Supabase (authentication)
  • PostHog (analytics)
  • Expo / Apple Push Notification service (push delivery)
  • RevenueCat, App Store, and Google Play Billing (in-app purchases)
  • Railway (API hosting and database)

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and gameplay data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time:

  • In the app: open Settings → Delete account (available on iOS and Android).
  • On the web: see our account deletion page for details and email instructions.

Deletion is permanent. We may retain a limited record of purchase history where required by law. Questions: jribeiro73@gmail.com.

Children

5 Clues Mystery is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
